As a company that listens to the voice of the customer, the CD series of speaker support stands were introduced in direct response to customer feedback and requests at the Munich Hi-Fi show in 2019. Conventional HiFi systems, which have numerous advantages over "installed systems", are visible and part of the furniture of a room. Customers want products of highest fidelity that compliment contemporary or classic aesthetics; products whose design is not only perfect for purpose, but also enhance sound quality. More than 33 years of experience has been leveraged in making the CD 606 speaker stand available to descerning customers. The Custom Design CD 606 speaker stand is a unique six square post design combining two square central columns - that can be either hard wood or ERW BS EN 10305-3 steel - with four square satellite posts of the same grade of steel.
The 4mm Acoustic Steel™ top plate and 6mm Acoustic Steel™ base plate are precision laser cut then hand polished, before being electrostatically powder coated. Acoustic Steel™ which is a constrained layer dampening system that converts resonance vibration noise into negligible heat by dissipation in a uniquely formulated polymer, is used to prevent sympathetic resonance in the stand. Control and fine tuning of bass frequencies is achieved by mass loading the center metal post with Custom Design specially selected Inert Filler, or by choosing the hardwood version which is self damping.
High quality zinc plated M8 fixing bolts are used and reflecting the attention to detail and standards of quality, the spikes, with new design spike covers, can be easily adjusted from the top with the Allen Key wrench provided. There is also a cable tidy facility to aid in discretely hiding cables behind the center column support. Parts are hand polished and carefully packaged reflecting the attention to quality that Custom Design imparts to all it's products.
The Custom Design CD 606 speaker stand is a well thought-out and beautifully crafted furniture that willl give great long term satisfaction.
