The Custom Design FS 104 Signature speaker stand is the most popular of all the stands that Custom Design makes and is not to be confused with the FS 104 Open Frame speaker stand. The FS 104 Signature adds a 3" central column and it is this extra column that is key to its sonic signature. Four 25mm (1in) satellite support columns combine with the central column producing a very high degree of rigidity and stable support. This 3in central column can also be easily mass loaded with Custom Design's specially selected Inert Filler which can also be used to fine tune the bass performance of your speakers in you room.
In the FS 104 Signature Speaker Stand, the 4mm thick Acoustic Steel™ top plates and CR4 Steel base plates are laser precision cut into an "H" shape rather than the usual rectangular plate so there is a similar amount of material to an open frame design. Acoustic Steel™ is a proprietary inert materials designed to dissipate resonance energy away from the mounted speaker and is a key design feature of the 104 Signature speaker stand. Also cut into an "H" shape, the base plates are made from oiled and pickled CR4 Steel. Both are plates are hand-finished and powder-coated.
The plates and columns are secured with high quality zinc plated M8 fixing bolts ensuring these parts fit together firmly and the spikes can be easily adjusted from the top with the Allen Key wrench provided.

But it is the sound quality obtained that differentiates these support stands from many others including more expensive ones. The FS 104 Signature Speaker Stand combines bass control with neutral impact not taking away other desirable attributes the loudspeakers may have.
Good bass timing, open precise stereo imaging with an exciting and dynamic sound is achieved in comparision to other clunky stands that often impart dullness and a closed in sound.

The standard Custom Design FS 104 Signature is 24" (610mm) tall but other heights can be specially ordered, and two sizes of top plate are curently available at 165 x 180mm (6.5 x 7in) or 150 x 180mm (6 x 7in) finished Black for both the center and satellite support columns. All white, and Chrome and Brushed Chrome satellite column finishes are available as optional extras.
